LADY PANTHERS SWEEP SOUTHERN IN SWAC HOME OPENER

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas- The Prairie View A&M Lady Panthers (10-9, 4-0) swept Southern (7-8, 1-1) in straight sets defeating the Jags 30-20, 30-21, and 30-23. PVAMU trailed only once during the entire contest as they retained control of the momentum and tempo of the match. Tyler, Texas.Tamika Newman led all players in kills tallying a total of 12. Senior outside hitter Shannon Harrison helped anchor the Lady Panther offensive attack contributing 11 kills. Laura de la Fuente, a senior setter provided Prairie View A&M with 26 assists which was also a match high.”I feel like our young ladies played very competitive tonight,” said head coach Alicia Pete. “Our team came out fired up and ready to play and I’m extremely impressed with their overall performance.”
