Swac Tournament - Seasons Over for Four Teams

After the first day of Swac tournament play four teams are going home.
On the Womens side of the bracket the top 2 teams played and there was no upset happening on this side of the bracket. Prairie View A&M showed Alabama State why they were the top seed and defending champion with a impressive 74-57 victory. Jackson State did more of the same in the other womens game with their victory over Alcorn State 62-51. his game was much closer until the final 3 minutes when JSU went on a 10-2 run to finish out the game.
On the Mens side of the bracket it was more of the same with the top seed Alabama State taking it to Texas Southern with a 67-49 win. This was most likely the last game being coach by Texas Southern’s Robert Moreland. After coming out of retirement as a interim coach for TSU. In the other mens game the #2 seeded team, Mississippi Valley State had a tougher fight with the #7 seeded team from Grambling. They held on for the win over the Tigers with a 79-71 victory.
All the winning teams advanced to the conferance semi-final games to be played on friday. The winners of Thursdays game will advance to the semi-final games also.
