Jackson State’s Jaymar Johnson drafted by NFL

jstatelogo.gifJackson State receiver Jaymar Johnson was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the 6th round of the 2008 NFL Draft.

Johnson - a 6-foot, 176-pound receiver from Gary, Indiana, was the 193rd pick (the 27th pick of the sixth round) overall. According to NFL.com, he was ranked among the fastest receivers in this year’s draft. An explosive catcher and return man, he caught 66 passes for 1,140 yards (17.3 per) and nine touchdowns and averaged 10.9 on 43 punt returns (with two scores) over the last two seasons.
