Texas Southern Heads in Different Direction with Women’s Basketball Program

Houston – Texas Southern Athletics Director Charles McClelland announced on Monday that a breakdown in negotiations with Surina Dixon led to changes in the women’s basketball program.
“Based upon the inability to agree upon a contract, we have decided to move in a different direction,” says McClelland.
Coach Dixon came to Texas Southern in March to replace former head coach Claude Cummings.
A national search for a new women basketball head coach will begin immediately.
