Antonio Heffner, a 6-2, 207 senior quarterback from Memphis, TN was named Ohio Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season (Sept. 7 was the other) after completing 20-of-28 passes for 312 yards and three touchdowns in the No. 25 Tigers 34-20 Conference-opening victory over defending champion Eastern Kentucky.

BIRMINGHAM, AL – The UAB Blazers posted first win of the season, a 45-10 win over Alabama State in the Hornets’ final pre-SWAC tuneup. The Blazers turned an Alabama State interception to a touchdown on its first possession to take a 7-0 lead just over 4 minutes into the game.
