Alcorn State’s Gonzalez Named to Freshmen All-American Team

Alcorn State , MS —Freshman Eduardo Gonzalez has been named to the 2009 Louisville Slugger Freshmen All-American Team. Gonzalez completed his freshman campaign with a batting average of .407 (1st in the SWAC and 43rd in the Nation), seventy (70) hits (1st in SWAC, 1st on Team), 11 doubles and 41 RBIs.

He was named the 2009 SWAC Freshman of the Year and Second Team All-SWAC.

The last All-American from Alcorn State was Corey Wimberly in 2004.

The 2009 Louisville Slugger Freshmen All-Americans were chosen by Collegiate Baseball
