This year during a game, one parent yelled to her son to knock my son out if he caught the ball at home plate...to prevent him from scoring (my son was on third). I ran over to her while they were getting ready to pitch and politely told her if your son tackles my boy, all hell will break out. When you incite a riot or intend to cause harm, I have a serious problem with that. Luckily for her, the umpire stopped the game and told her that she could get thrown out of the park for making suggestions like that.
Now that's sad. I think the play on the field speaks more volumes than anything. I tried not to "coach" from the stands and I think all would be well not to do that, unless they're encouraging their child and others children to do their best. I've heard "stuff" from the stands and it's quite amazing to witness (hear) from adults.
